Introducing our new President. Membership Dinner Friday April 11, 2008 5:30 - 8:00 pm at Camp Pendleton San Luis Rey Officer's Club. Speaker: CO Field Medical Service School, Sea Cadets will present colors and receive Sea Cadet of the Year Award. Cost: $20 per person (Includes Delicious Mongolian BBQ Dinner)

I recently read that between STATUS QUO and PROGRESS reside these two words, WHY NOT. So as we approach the end of 2007 and set plans for 2008 I say to my fellow Navy Leaguer's, WHY NOT. WHY NOT help us grow our membership by asking your friends and relatives to join the Navy League. WHY NOT become more of a participating member by getting involved as a board member or chairing a committee or volunteering to lend a hand. WHY NOT promote the sea services by writing an inspirational message that we could print in our log or on our website.

President’s Message - Your Navy League Tri-City Council is alive and well and growing. In the last 6 months, we have welcomed two Community Affiliates and thirty new members. In July we listened to Colonel James Seaton III tell us about the trials and tribulations of running one of the largest Marine Corps bases during a time of war. Currently we are in the process of adopting a US Coast Guard Cutter. October 12 - 14 we will be attending the MCAS Miramar air show. On November 7th we will be at Camp Pendleton to attend the US Marine Corps birthday pageant. Now what can you, our members do to help the future of your Navy League Council?

New Tri-City Council President, Wally Schneider. George Baumbach received the Pacific Southwest Navy Leaguer of the year 2006 Award! On March 17,2007 Herchel W. Burson, a retired Navy Commander and Past President of the Tri-City Council Navy League passed away.

We are having our Submarine Base Tour on Tuesday September 19th. On November 8th is Tri-City Membership Dinner at the San Luis Rey Officer’s Club on Camp Pendleton. We will have nominations and elections in December of our new board of directors for 2007. Guest Speaker is Christopher E. Next Tri-City Council Navy League Event is Wednesday, December 14th at Marie Callender's in Carlsbad. The guest speaker will be from the U.S. Coast Guard, just returning from the Gulf of Mexico, rescuing victims from the devastating Katrina and Rita Hurricanes.
